

AIR FORCE ASSOCIATION VIETNAM VETERANS BURSARY
The Royal Australian Air Force (Vic) Foundation in conjunction with the Royal Australian Air Force Vietnam Veterans Association (Vic) has established an annual Bursary for eligible dependents.
Eligibility
- The child, adopted child or grandchild of a person who served with the RAAF in Vietnam, or three or more years continuous full time service, as a member of the RAAF; or
- A stepchild or foster child is eligible, if they have resided with or been financially supported by the RAAF Vietnam Veteran step parent or foster parent, for five of the last ten years;
- Under the age of 25 when applying unless exceptional circumstances, related to the Veteran’s service, exist
- Enrolled in (or planning to enrol in) any recognized educational or training course or undertaking or planning to undertake any activity or representation associated with any recognized educational or training course
- Resident in Victoria (an applicant normally resident in Victoria but undertaking the course as a boarding student or rooming “on-campus” may be deemed eligible) Note: Applicants may apply separately or be nominated by any member of the RAAF Vietnam Veterans Association
Assessment
- The RAAF Vietnam Veterans Association (RAAFVVA) Bursary Sub-Committee will assess applications/nominations on merit.
- The decision of the RAAFVVA in selecting the successful applicant(s) is final and is not subject to either correspondence or dispute by any unsuccessful applicant.

- The Secretary RAAF Vietnam Veterans Association will:
- advise the successful applicant/applicants and the bursary amount and payment procedures by the 15th December each year; and
- invite the successful applicant/applicants to attend the RAAFVVA Annual General Meeting for presentation of the bursary certificate.

2010 Bursary Recipients
The Chairman RAAF Association (Vic) Foundation, Bill Belton AM, and the President of the RAAF Vietnam Veterans Association (Vic), Nick LeRay-Meyer AM, are pleased to announce that the successful Air Force Association Vietnam Veterans Bursary Recipients for 2010 are:
- Ms Nadine Reichardt
undergraduate Bachelor of Arts/Law – Monash University; - Ms Meaghan Barrow
undergraduate Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience – Latrobe University; and - Ms Bronte Hudnott
undergraduate Bachelor of Music Performance – Victorian College of Arts.
In confirming the Selection Committee recommendations, of special note was the number of applicants in this the first year of the Bursary as well as their enthusiasm and commitment to achieve higher educational goals. Several applicants also demonstrated involvement in local and regional community activities; personal attributes that augurs well for the future.
The Bursary’s will be presented at a ceremony to be held at 2.00pm on Sunday 14th February 2010 at “The Victorian Air Forces’ Centre”, 24-36 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.
The two Associations thank all applicants and extend to the 2010 recipients our sincere congratulations.
